Almae Matris Croaticae Alumni -
Technologiae Textilis Facultatis
(AMCA TTF)
Croatian Association
of Alumni and Friends of Faculty of Textile Technology
About the Association

The Croatian association of alumni and friends of Faculty of Textile Technology was founded on 17th May 2004 at the Founding Assembly held at Faculty of Textile Technology. The assembly was well attended by invited persons, alumni and friends of the Faculty of Textile Technology.
Mr. Ivan Stamać, who wrote music for the verses by Dragutin Tadijanović "Dugo u noć, bijelu zimsku noć, moja mati bijelo platno tka" accepted for the song of the Association. Soprano Nadja Jonke, member of the Croatian National Theatre, performed the song superbly.
Many alumni and friends of the textile study program wrote letters of support to the assembly, wishing success. The Rector of the University of Zagreb, Professor Helena Jasna Mencer, and emeritus professor Zvonimir Šeparović were among the distinguished well wishers. The participants of the assembly came from almost all generations of the students of the textile study.
The information about the foundation of the Association filled many alumni in Croatia and abroad with enthusiasm, especially those living in America, Australia, New Zealand or elsewhere. They received the first message about the foundation of the Association sent several months on the eve of the Assembly. Letters of support were sent to the Assembly, also via Internet, promising to visit one of the next assemblies.
Over several past decades the former students were filled with nostalgia when they left their faculty where they spent their student days and part of their youth. That was stressed especially by former students living and working outside of Zagreb and Croatia. Only a few maintained their permanent connections to the Faculty, and such a connection filled only part of what can be implemented by the AMCA.
The aims of the AMCA Association of the Faculty of Textile Technology are to promote fellowship, to respect the ethics quality between students, creating the scientific and professional standing in the broad range of textile science and economy.
Over the past years alumni of the textile study celebrated jubilees only occasionally, and there is a keen desire for a continuous and stronger connection with the faculty. Making contacts and collaboration with associations in the Republic of Croatia and over the world is a logical connection in the chain of the large family of students.
The Faculty of Textile Technology was founded as an independent institution only in 1990. Before that the former textile students studied at the Faculty of Technology of the University of Zagreb (now Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology), and this is the reason why some former students of the textile study are members of AMACIZ.
The committee follows the foundation task of the AMCA branch of the Faculty of Textile Technology, lead by a strong potential of former students of the textile study. Within the scope of European integrations they will solve many high-standard tasks in order to improve the life quality of European citizens by using new textile products which will protect them against indoor and outdoor changes. In addition to clothing, textile plays an inexhaustible role in other areas.
The program of the AMCA of the Faculty of Textile Technology was accepted by the Assembly. Priority tasks are to make a member directory, publish an information leaflet, organize jubilee celebrations, and assist the member employment, and collaboration with other associations in Croatia and abroad. We are inviting alumni of the world, especially of textile departments.
Recent activities of the AMCA encompass the publication of the information leaflet, the introduction of the Association on the Internet web page of the Faculty of Textile Technology (www.ttf.hr) in Croatian and a summary in English because the AMCA wishes to collaborate with international associations. The most recent action of the AMCA is to introduce successful members on the Internet web page of the Association.

Alumni, especially of textile departments of universities all over the world, we wish to collaborate with you in terms of fellowship, experience exchange and cooperation.
